Join the McMillan Library and the Ah Dah Wa Gam Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for a presentation by John Armbruster on his book TailSpin.
Tailspin tells the true story of Gene Moran, a WWII tailgunner from Soldier’s Grove, WI. Gene survived a four-mile fall without a parachute when his B-17 Flying Fortress was shot down over Germany in November of 1943. Even more miraculously, he survived another year and a half in various Nazi POW camps.
For more than 6 decades, he refused to share those experiences with anyone. Before he passed away, however, he decided to tell his story to one person - a local high school history teacher named John Armbruster.
