And the Theme is "OCEANS OF POSSIBILITIES" to go along with the Summer Reading Program.
Sponsored by the Grand Ave Artists. Participation is open to the public and artists of all ages and abilities.
PLEASE NOTE: REGISTRATION IS NOW ONLY ON SITE THE DAY OF.
Check in and registration will be under the tent by the "River Rider's Bike Share" rack. All participants must check in prior to beginning their artwork. Participants will receive their supplies and space assignment at check in. You can check in any time between 2:30 and 5:00 pm but all works must be completed promptly by 5:30 p.m. You may begin chalking any time after you check in. The awards will be presented at 5:30 p.m.
Participants will be assigned a space in which to create their work of art. Spaces will be assigned randomly on a first come first serve basis. Some spaces may have imperfections due to normal wear and tear. Spaces are limited, so register early. They are approximately 3’ x 3’. Plan accordingly for weather and sun.
Though there will be chalk available, WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to bring your own materials to add variety.. Participants may bring their own chalk, brushes, and water. Chalk must be water-based. If you choose to bring your own materials, only water-soluble materials are permitted. Permanent media are prohibited. All supplies must be presented at check-in for inspection.
Teams are allowed and encouraged. Teams receive the same materials and prizes as single entrants.
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
First, Second and Third place Theme (ages 12+)
First, Second and Third place Non-Theme (ages 12+)
Mayor’s Choice or Best of Show
Children 11 and under that are registered will receive a Certificate of Participation
YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. Any awards not claimed will be forfeited.
IN THE EVENT OF RAIN, THE EVENT IS CANCELLED AND NOT RESCHEDULED
By registering for this event, you agree to the following terms: 1) I/we agree to abide by the rules of participation. This includes no nudes, advertising, business logos or political statements. 2) You also give permission for the Grand Ave Artists to possibly use photos of the artwork for media and marketing purposes.
