Library Director

Are you an excellent public speaker and visionary library leader seeking a challenging new opportunity? The McMillan Memorial Library Board seeks an collaborative, community-minded Library Director with a vision for our library's future. The ideal candidate will commit to providing equitable library services; supervise, inspire, and evaluate McMillan staff; and build relationships with our whole community.

Located in the heart of Wisconsin Rapids, the 45,000 square foot library facility was recently renovated in 2022 to include an expanded makerspace, study and meeting rooms, and a 248-seat auditorium. The new Library Director will lead a team of nearly 20 FTE with a $2 million annual budget, with additional funding available through a $2 million Endowment Fund. As a member of the LINKcat consortium, McMillan patrons have access to 10 million+ materials from 50 libraries. With support from the South Central Library System, the library team stays abreast of best practices in serving patrons of all ages.

The qualified candidate will have progressively responsible experience in library services and management. An MLS from an ALA accredited university is required and the candidate will be eligible for a grade 1 Library Certification.

Salary range is $100,000 to $112,000 depending on qualifications.
