Trivia Night!

Where
All–Purpose Room

Join us for a night of quizzing and prizes! Pizza, snacks, and refreshments provided. Thursday, October 19th at 7pm. Register as a team or individually.

Community members choose their own teams of 5 to 8 people. (People will be placed on teams by staff when necessary.) Over the course of two hours teams will compete against each other to be crowned the trivia champions! Winners will receive a small prize for their erudite efforts.

 

Lasercut Lanterns

The Studio @ McMillan

Join us in the Studio and learn to design your own lantern!  At the same time, you'll be trained on how to use our Glowforge laser cutter and engraver. It would be Friday, the 13th CRAZY if this class didn't fill up fast! Sign up, if you dare.

Pick a registration time to come in and create!  Expect to be here for more than 1 hour. We have limited computers for use in the Studio.   Pick a start time that works best for you!

Local favorites Four on the Floor return to the McMillan stage for their monthly show.  Stop by to enjoy some classic jazz. 

Four on the Floor is a multi-generational jazz quartet playing standards from America’s songbook. (Personnel may vary)

Northern Lakes Mysteries with Jeff Nania

Join us as award-winning author Jeff Nania tells stories, reads excerpts, and answers questions about his novels. He draws upon a wealth of experience in his bestselling Northern Lakes Mystery series. The most recent title in the series, Musky Run, was published in 2023 and was recognized by the Independent Publisher Book Awards as the Great Lakes Best Regional Fiction Gold Winner.

They will discuss their works, fantasy fiction, and field questions from the audience! This is a chance to get a multi-faceted perspective on all your fantasy fiction questions, whether they are about the author’s works, the fantasy genre generally, or the writing/publishing process for fantasy fiction books.

Write Night

This is an ongoing writing group that is dedicated to encouraging exploration and refinement of writing craft. We will read each other’s work, provide feedback, and talk all things literary. Please bring a laptop, or paper and a writing instrument. 

All adults welcome. More information regarding our process and google docs will be provided at our monthly meeting. (We use google docs to collaborate month-to-month: reading works before meetings allows us to spend more time critiquing.)
