We are partnering with WRPS Elementary Schools once again to bring you a fun summertime party. Come and celebrate the reading you have already done, and the reading you will be doing the remainder of the summer. There will be games, prizes, snacks, story read alouds, and a Spoonman show at 2:30.
We are all superheroes! Let's dress up as our favorite superhero (you too, adults) and watch The Incredibles 2. After the movie join us for a superhero snack in the All Purpose room to show off your amazing costumes.
Paint with wild abandon...OUTSIDE! Materials will be provided for participants to take part in creating some fun art in messy ways. Please be prepared to get messy! Wear clothing you don't mind getting full of paint (just in case). This program is dependent on the weather. If the weather is uncertain, please check the library's website, social media, or call to make sure it is still going to run.
Representatives from Mead and Sandhill Wildlife Areas will be at McMillan Library to share their knowledge of native Wisconsin mammals and the tracks they leave behind.
McMillan Library and WRPS Elementary Schools are partnering to bring this fantastic Summer Reading Program Kick Off Party! There will be games, prizes, story read alouds, snacks, and TOM PEASE! Tom will be playing shows at 1:00 and 2:30 in the library's theater. Seating is limited and we will be giving out tickets the day of the program.
McMillan Library will be closed for the 4th of July. We will be open our regular hours (9am-8pm) on Wednesday, July 5. Enjoy the holiday!
We've extended the deadline for entries to our next photography exhibit until May 15. The theme for this show is "I love books!" so send us photos related to books and reading. Take a selfie with your favorite librarian or bookseller (ask permission first, of course). Photograph a still life of your favorite titles.
Partnering with Parks & Rec we are offering 3 different outdoor craft events featuring tools and materials too messy for indoor use. This is a free event and all materials and supplies are provided. Everyone is welcome to come in the 2-4 window but last crafts can be started at 3:30 PM. Ages 3-11 are welcome with a parent and PLEASE SIGN-UP SO THAT WE HAVE ENOUGH SUPPLIES. Email Miss Alicia at teen [at] mcmillanlibrary.org with any questions.
